Street Division

The Pleasanton Street Division is proud to ensure that the City’s streets, sidewalks, parking lots, traffic control signs and pavement markings are maintained to provide safe and accessible public passage throughout the City.

The Street Division is located at the Operations Service Center, 3333 Busch Road, and can be contacted at (925) 931-5551 Monday through Friday during normal business hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Large Paving – The Street Division consists of four programs: Street Maintenance, Street Cleaning, Traffic Maintenance, and Concrete Maintenance. The large paving crew handles larger repairs of failed street areas.

Small Paving – The large and small paving crews maintain existing paved streets and City parking lots, repairing failed areas, filling cracks and low areas, and paving utility cuts.

Crack Sealing – The Street Maintenance Program provides a semi-annual condition survey of all streets to keep the City’s Pavement Management System current.

Signs – The Traffic Maintenance Program provides for the fabrication, installation and maintenance of the City’s traffic control signs. This crew also provides special signs for the City’s numerous special events throughout the year.

Stencils –The Traffic Maintenance Program in addition to maintaining signs is responsible for other traffic elements. This program paints curbs, pavement lines, and legends on the City’s streets. All red, yellow, and green curbs and the City parking lots are repainted annually.

Concrete – The concrete maintenance program maintains and repairs all City sidewalks, curbs, gutters and other concrete structures to provide safe walkways for pedestrians, and to maintain the proper flow lines for water run-off.

Street Cleaning Program – The Street Division also handles the contracts for weekly sweeping of the downtown business district’s streets and monthly sweeping of all other streets and City parking lots. From late fall through February, a leaf pickup service is provided to help keep streets clear of leaves. This program also contracts for weekly pickup of downtown trash receptacles.
