The Parks and Community Services Department offers a wide array of indoor and outdoor activities, classes, services and facilities for all ages through its Parks Maintenance, Recreation, Civic Arts, Human Services, Landscape Architecture and Administration divisions. Activities Guide and Registration: Check out our latest Activities Guide to see what activities, camps and classes are being offered this quarter, and for the registration forms and instructions.
Aquatics: If you like swimming or water exercise, or want to get certified in water safety, our Aquatics Center offers something for you.
Callippe Preserve Golf Course: The Course provides golfers a challenging 18-hole course, driving range, and clubhouse with indoor and outdoor seating.
Facility Rentals: Planning a wedding reception, birthday party, meeting, sports tournament, or play? The City rents several facilities, such as event and meeting rooms, gyms, softball fields and the Amador Theater for the community’s needs.
Gingerbread Preschool: Parents love the educational and social experiences their 3-5 year olds get at our school year Gingerbread Preschool program.
Parks, Trails and Open Space: We provide and maintain 40 parks with great amenities, several miles of trails, and numerous acres of open space. We are also taking sign ups for space at our new Community Garden.
Paratransit/Transportation: The City is pleased to offer transportation service for Pleasanton seniors (age 60 and up) and ADA-qualified persons of any age.
Recreational Activities for the Developmentally Disabled: Our RADD program offers recreational activities and events designed for developmentally disabled members of the community, ages 15 and up.
Seniors: Trips, activities, transportation, supporting services and vital information are available from various departments to community members as young as age 50. We also offer scholarships/limited financial assistance to qualified seniors to participate in various activities.
Special Interests: Looking for something on exercise, fitness, self-improvement, nature, computers, babysitting, dog training, or woodworking? We have special interest and environmental education classes and activities to meet your needs.
Sports: Through the City or the many local sports groups, you can play soccer, baseball, basketball, football, tennis, lacrosse, softball, golf, roller hockey, volleyball, bocce, or badminton.
Tree Protection and Landscape Architecture: The City Landscape Architect manages design and construction of new parks, Landscape and Lighting Districts, and the Heritage Tree Protection program. Click here for more information.
Youth Services: Several departments offer wide ranging activities and services to the community’s youth, such as Mini-Sports for children as young as 3, or serving as an appointed City official on the Youth Commission (middle and high school students). We also offer scholarships/limited financial assistance to qualified youth to participate in various activities.
