The City of Pleasanton offers 40 community and neighborhood parks, approximately 21 miles of trails and over 330 acres of undeveloped open space.
Parks: Community parks are intended for community-wide, and feature a variety of amenities. A neighborhood park is intended to serve the immediate neighborhood, but is open for use by the general public, and has limited amenities. Many neighborhood parks are located within ½ mile of the residential neighborhoods they serve, which is a goal in the City’s General Plan. Parks are as small as ½ acre (Veterans Plaza Park in the Downtown area) and as large as 237 acres (Augustin Bernal Park in the southwest portion of the City). Our parks also offer unique features, such as our BMX Park on Stanley Boulevard near Shadow Cliffs. To see a list of park locations and amenities, click here.
No Smoking Near Playgrounds and Tot Lots: As a community, we want to make sure all children are healthy and safe in our parks. We take this opportunity to remind you that smoking or disposing of tobacco-related products within 25 feet of a playground or tot lot is prohibited by State Health and Safety Code 104495. The fine for violation of this Code is $250 for each offense. |
Parks Maintenance Division: The Division maintains all 40 parks, City trails, and open space, as well as all City street trees, landscaping along City streets and around City government buildings.
