Paratransit/Transportation

Pleasanton Paratransit Services (PPS) provides scheduled door-to-door, shared ride transportation for residents of Pleasanton and Sunol age 60 and above, and residents meeting the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) eligibility requirements.  Wheels Dial-a-Ride staff can certify ADA eligibility.

Service Area:  PPS covers Pleasanton and Sunol, with limited service for medical appointments to San Ramon (San Ramon Regional Medical Center) and Livermore (Veterans Administration Medical Center, Valley Memorial Hospital/Medical Corridor, Kaiser Medical Offices, and Concannon Boulevard medical area).

Service Hours:  PPS provides transportation Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., with last scheduled pick ups between 5:00-5:15 p.m.  Saturday hours are 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  PPS does not operate on Sundays and City holidays.  Wheels Dial-a-Ride serves Pleasanton ADA-eligible riders when PPS is not operating.  (Wheels Dial-a-Ride has its own registration form and fare vouchers.)

Rides must be scheduled at least 2 business days in advance, and cannot be scheduled more than 2 weeks in advance.  PPS does not provide same day service.

How to Sign Up:  If you’re interested in becoming a new rider, here’s what to do:

  1. Click on the PPS Riders Guide link, and review the Guide to learn more about the program.
  2. Complete the PPS application (available at the PPS Application link).
  3. If you are under age 60 and disabled, contact Wheels Dial-A-Ride at (925) 455-7510 to find out how to become ADA certified.  (This process could take up to 2 weeks.)
  4. Submit the application (and a copy of your ADA certification card, if applicable) by mail or in person to Pleasanton Paratransit Service, 5353 Sunol Blvd., Pleasanton, CA 94566.  Applications can also be faxed to the PPS Office at (925) 485-3685.

PPS staff will contact you when your application has been reviewed, and you’re registered in the system.
