The City of Pleasanton offers a number of activities and services for seniors through various departments. To find out more information on any of the following topics, click on the links to the below.
Pleasanton Senior Center: A number of recreational activities, enrichment classes, assistance programs, and support groups are available at the Senior Center. The Pleasanton Paratransit Service office is also located at the Center.
Recreation and Enrichment: The Parks and Community Services Department offers a variety of recreational opportunities, such as trips, dances, classes, and even free movies.
Senior Citizen Housing Opportunities: In Pleasanton, there are a number of rental apartments for low-income seniors. There are also apartments at below-market rents. Seniors requiring assistance with daily living activities can look into skilled nursing facilities and State-certified board and care facilities. Additionally, there are two mobile home parks in town for adults age 55 and above.
Assistance and Support Programs: There are several financial assistance programs, as well as support groups/programs.
Senior Transportation: Several transportation options are available in the City, including Pleasanton Paratransit Services, Wheels, DART, BART, LAFTA, and ACE train.
Public Safety: Pleasanton Police Department offers three services for the safety and security of the senior community – a senior driver safety course, the “Are You Okay?” Program, and crime prevention programs to learn how to avoid becoming a victim of a scam or theft.
Library: Pleasanton Library offers the Mature Adults Program, as well as materials in formats seniors may need.
