Youth Sports, Recreational Classes and Special Interest Activities: The Parks and Community Services Department offers a wide variety of sports, aquatics classes, recreational activities, arts programs and classes, and specialty classes to meet any need. Teens and Young Adults: If you’re into acting, cheerleading, trips to fun places, or cooking, we offer camps for you. You can go fishing with us during our annual fishing derby. Budding musicians and vocalists can audition for our annual Youth Music Festival. If leadership and participation is your thing, you can apply to serve on the City’s Youth Commission. Looking for a job or volunteer opportunities? We can probably fill that need, too.
Gingerbread Preschool: Parents love the educational and social experiences their 3-5 year olds get at our school year Gingerbread Preschool program.
Library Youth Programs: Pleasanton Library provides over 20 services and activities geared specifically for youth.
Police Department Youth Programs: Pleasanton Police provides information, presentations, activities, and education for the safety and development of the community’s young people. It covers areas such as bicycle safety, child seat safety, DARE Program, Explorer (law enforcement career) Program, juvenile diversion, Megan’s Law, school resource officers, teen citizens police academy, and Traffic Safety Education Programs.
The Parent Project®: The Pleasanton Police Department, in partnership with Pleasanton Unified School District Adult Education, is proud to present The Parent Project®. The Parent Project® is an interactive class that teaches parents skills to work with their strong-willed adolescents. The class teaches effective strategies proven to change destructive adolescent behavior. The class answers difficult questions, teaches solutions and provides practical and emotional support for parents living with defiant children.

Recreational Activities for the Developmentally Disabled: Our RADD program offers recreational activities and events designed for developmentally disabled members of the community, ages 15 and up.
Youth Scholarships/Financial Assistance: The City offers limited matching funds to eligible youth to cover fees for activities and programs.
